Days and weeks before you get married, every person you run into will ask if you are excited about the big day or jumping the broom. I would kindly respond that I was really excited to eat the cake. This was the most thrilling thing about the actual wedding day for me. I know my limits, considering that I hate being on display in front of people this event posed to be a very awkward and uncomfortable situation for me. Perhaps that is why I consistently focused on the cake. The cake was the prize. I was going to get to eat eye-twitchingly sweet cake after being uncomfortable while speaking the vows I wrote for only Eric's ears to an entire room of people, some of which were strangers. After all that scary ceremony stuff was over; the fun and food could commence.

After a taste test, Eric and I magically picked the same cake, almond cake with vanilla buttercream. It was awesome. Some say it was too sweet, but they are wimps. It was heavenly sweet. Jennifer over at
Cup a Dees fulfilled my sweet-tooth's innermost desires. Instead of having a grooms cake, Eric opted for a cookie bar accompanied with milk. The cookie bar was equipped with shortbread cookies, brownies, cookie sandwiches, and perfectly delectable selection of french macarons made by the coolest gal I know, Beca. Thanks again Beca!
Since we have rad friends, we asked our buddy Zach to DJ his staggeringly ideal vinyl collection. Classic 60's and 70's hits filled the room. Our first dance was to "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and the Shondells.
I hope you enjoyed a peek into my wedding, I definitely loved reliving it through the sharing/post/blogging outlet. My next post is a giveaway so stay tuned!
Hugs,
Maggie
